ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The No. 21 New Mexico men’s basketball team returns home Saturday night to host UNLV in a sold out Pit. Game time is 7:30 p.m. and the game will air on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network. Saturday night’s game will be a white out in The Pit as fans should wear white to support the Lobos.

With a large crowd expected and the new security features, including metal detectors, in place, fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays entering the arena. The Lobos (14-1, 2-1 MW) were the final unbeaten team in the nation before suffering a 71-67 loss a Fresno State on Tuesday night. New Mexico has won 12 straight home games dating back to last season and is 122-6 all-time in The Pit when ranked in the AP poll. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. leads the Mountain West in scoring at 17.5 ppg, while Jaelen House leads the conference in assists and steals.

UNLV (11-3, 0-2 MW) opened the season with 10 straight wins, but have dropped its first two conference games, at San Jose State and at home against San Diego State. The Runnin’ Rebels are led by Elijah Harkless, who averages 16.0 per game.

UNLV leads the all-time series 40-26, but the Lobos hold a 15-14 edge at The Pit. The teams split two games last season, each winning at home.

Saturday’s game is the first of two matchups against highly rated opponents in a three-day span at The Pit. On Monday, the Lobos host Summit League favorite Oral Roberts, led by guard Max Abmas, one of just nine active 2,000 career point scorers in Division I. The game, scheduled just two weeks ago, will tip off at 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
