No. 22 Lobos Open Conference Road Schedule New Year’s Eve at Wyoming
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The No. 22 New Mexico men’s basketball team begins a two-game road trip Saturday afternoon with a New Year’s Eve matchup at Wyoming. Game time in Laramie is 2:00 p.m. and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.
The Lobos (13-0, 1-0 MW) are one of three remaining unbeaten teams nationally and entered the Associated Press rankings this week at No. 22, their first ranking since the end of the 2014 season. New Mexico is coming off an 88-69 victory over Colorado State on Wednesday at The Pit in its conference opener. The Lobos are the only team in the nation with three players averaging over 16.0 points per game with Jaelen House at 17.2 ppg and Morris Udeze and Jamal Mashburn, Jr. both at 16.9 ppg.
Wyoming enters the game with a 5-8 record and is coming off a 58-53 loss at Fresno State on Wednesday night to open Mountain West play. The Cowboys are led by preseason All-Mountain West guard Hunter Maldonado, but have been without Graham Ike, the preseason Mountain West Player of the Year, all season due to injury.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 76-71, but the Cowboys lead 44-26 in Laramie. The teams split the two games last season, each winning at home.
New Mexico will conclude its road trip on Tuesday with a visit to Fresno State before a pair of home games against UNLV (Jan. 7) and Oral Roberts (Jan. 9).
