Lobos Travel to Vegas for Invitational

Las Vegas, Nev. – The University of New Mexico swimming and diving team is set to begin competing in the UNLV Invitational on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nev. This three-day meet, spanning this weekend and concluding on Monday, includes nine different programs across all of the NCAA’s levels.

The Division I programs competing against the Lobos this weekend include UNLV (4-2, 0-0 MW), Cal Baptist (2-2), Cal Poly (1-3), and UCLA (4-0).

Fresno Pacific University is also competing this weekend as a NCAA Division II representative.

Linfield University and Lewis & Clark College – both from Oregon – will both be making an appearance this weekend as well, representing NCAA’s Division III.

The Master’s University, located in California, is the only NAIA school at the Invitational.

Saturday’s scheduled events include the 200-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, and 400-yard medley relay.

Sunday is slated to have the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, and 800-yard freestyle relay.

The meet will conclude on Monday with the 1650-yard freestyle, 100-yard individual medley, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
