ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Unveiling the 2023 schedule on Monday, New Mexico baseball head coach Tod Brown announced the Lobos’ full slate of games for the upcoming spring season.

The 52-game schedule, including 30 Mountain West Conference games, features competitive names from the outset of the season on Feb. 17 through the regular-season finale on May 20. UNM will play 28 games at Santa Ana Star Field in Albuquerque and 24 games on the road throughout the regular season.

The 2023 campaign gets started with a bang, as UNM takes on Oregon State University twice in the first four days of the year in Surprise, Ariz. The four-game tournament to open the season will also feature matchups against UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 18) and Minnesota (Feb. 20).

The Lobos will then have eight straight games at home, with a four-game set against Northern Colorado on Feb. 24-26 followed directly by a four-game series against St. Bonaventure from March 3-5.

Road games at Texas Tech (March 7) and Arizona (April 25) headline the list of Lobos non-conference opponents, and UNM will also play at Grand Canyon on March 14. Texas Tech will make a return trip to Albuquerque for a mid-week game on March 28, and UNM will host NCAA D2 Colorado State Pueblo in more non-conference action on April 11-12.

UNM will also play a four-game home-and-home set against in-state rival New Mexico State. UNM will host the Aggies in mid-week games on March 21 and May 2, while playing in Las Cruces on April 4 and April 18. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. for all four of the Tuesday night rivalry contests.

The Mountain West schedule begins at home with a three-game series against Air Force on March 10-12, and UNM will also play the Falcons on the road on April 21-23 in Colorado Springs, Colo. UNM’s other conference home series include San Diego State on March 31-April 2, San Jose State on April 6-8, Fresno State on April 28-30, and Nevada on May 12-14.

The Lobos will play at Fresno State on March 17-19, at Nevada on March 24-26, and at San Diego State to close the regular season on May 18-20. UNLV is the lone conference opponent that UNM will face just once during the regular season, with that three-game series set for May 5-7 in Las Vegas.

The 2023 Mountain West Championships are scheduled for May 25-27 at Pete Beiden Field in Fresno, Calif. The top-four teams in the regular-season standings earn a spot in the tournament, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championships.
