New Security Measures at The Pit Debut This Week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fans attending New Mexico men’s and women’s basketball games will notice enhanced security procedures when attending games, most notably the use of metal detectors for screening fans as they enter the arena. These changes will be in effect beginning with Tuesday’s men’s game vs. Western New Mexico and Wednesday’s women’s game vs. Abilene Christian, throughout the rest of the season.

Metal detectors will be in use at all four gates of The Pit (NW, NE, SE, SW) and the screening process will be the same as for Isotopes and NM United games. Fans will need to remove all metal objects (including electronics, keys, change, etc.) and place them in the bowl before walking through the detectors. The clear bag policy and prohibited items list have not changed.

Fans are encouraged to arrive earlier than normal for upcoming games as entry times could be slower with the new screening procedures.
