DALLAS, Texas –– The New Mexico men’s golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational with the final round at Trinity Forest Golf Club. The Lobos shot 4-under in the third round, their best round of the event, to finish in 10th place at 2-over.

Little Rock won the title with a score of 31-under. Host SMU was second at 28-under, followed by Baylor at 23-under and Furman at 19-under.

Carson Herron shot his low round of the season for the Lobos with a 4-under 68 on Tuesday to finish the event at 1-under. Bastien Amat also shot in red figures in the final round with a 2-under 70. Matthew Watkins and Virgilio Paz each shot 73 on Tuesday, while Brandon Shong rounded out the lineup with a 74.

“It was definitely a better round for us today,” said head coach Glen Millican. “Carson’s 68 and Bastien’s 70 were good rounds and we had a couple of other guys really close. It was good for us to get it going and I was proud of the effort today.”

The Lobos will conclude the fall portion of their schedule next week with the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev. New Mexico is the reigning champion of the event, having won the title last fall.
