DALLAS, Texas –– The New Mexico men’s golf team continued play Monday at the Trinity Forest Invitational with the second round at Trinity Forest Golf Club. The Lobos shot 3-over for the second straight day and are tied for 11th place after the 36 holes of the event at 6-over.
Little Rock continues to hold the lead, with a 15-under score through 36 holes. Host SMU is second at 14-under, while Baylor is third at 13-under and Furman is fourth at 11-under.
“We did not play our best today,” said head coach Glen Millican. “There are a lot of areas we need to be better in if we are going to compete. We have one more opportunity tomorrow to show we can shoot a good number here and if we do, we are still within reach of a good finish.”
Bastien Amat shot the low-round of the day for the Lobos on Monday with a 1-under 71. Carson Herron and Matthew Watkins each shot 73 in the second round, while Virgilio Paz shot 74 and Brandon Shong rounded out the lineup with a 75.
The Trinity Forest Invitational will conclude Tuesday in Dallas.
