Lobo Softball Signs Chloe Yeatts
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— University of New Mexico head softball coach Nicole Dickson and staff have announced that Chloe Yeatts has signed to the 2022 class.
A catcher and infielder who plays the corners, Yeatts recently graduated from Lone Grove High School in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The newest Lobo arrives with several accolades from her high school career, including being named the 2019 district and Lake Country Conference Defensive Player of the Year and the 2020 district and Lake Country Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
In addition, she earned Offensive Player of the Year and Oklahoma All-State Catcher in 2021 and was a Gatorade Oklahoma Softball Player of the Year nominee, while her team won regionals in 2018 and 2019, and was the 4A state runner-up in 2020 before winning the state championship in 2021.
Her senior season, Yeatts hit .473 with an .839 slugging percentage, recording eight home runs and 49 RBI. As a junior, her stats were as impressive, hitting .458 with an .879 slugging percentage, finishing with 10 home runs and 66 RBI. Yeatts set the single season and career home run record at her high school and finished her career as the RBI leader.
Yeatts played club ball for the Oklahoma Angels Yeatts, and is coming off a summer in which she hit .435 with an .821 slugging percentage, tallying six home runs and 35 RBI.
“I chose to attend The University of New Mexico because of my relationship with Coach Dickson and Coach Spearman,” noted Yeatts. “They promote a positive family atmosphere within the program and that is what I’m used to.”
Yeatts intends to major in education and is the third Lobo to sign to play for Dickson and staff for the upcoming season.
