Baker-Livingston Named MW Freshman of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman right-handed pitcher Benjamin Baker-Livingston of the University of New Mexico baseball team was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This marks Baker-Livingston’s first weekly award of his young Lobo career. The Richardson, Texas, native earned the award after pitching 3.2 innings of relief against both No. 9 Texas Tech and MW leader UNLV, allowing just one run and five hits during that span against the hot-hitting Red Raiders and Rebels.
Baker-Livingston pitched 2.1 innings in New Mexico’s 11-10 win over No. 9 Texas Tech on April 19, allowing just one run on two hits while fanning three Red Raiders. He threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief pitching in the Lobos’ series finale at UNLV on Sunday.
The Lobos return home for a four-game homestand, beginning with a midweek matchup against GCU on April 26 at 6 p.m. (MT) at Santa Ana Star Field. New Mexico will then host San Jose State for a three-game conference series next weekend on April 29-May 1.
