BRYAN, Texas –– The New Mexico men’s golf team concluded play at the Aggie Invitational on Sunday with the final round at the Traditions Golf Club. The Lobos shot 26-over through challenging conditions during the third round to finish T-4th at 47-over.

Host Texas A&M, ranked No. 23 nationally, won the event at 23-over. No. 10 Arkansas was second at 31-over and seventh-ranked Texas Tech was third at 34-over. The Lobos and Houston tied for fourth at 47-over.

“These were some really difficult conditions,” said head coach Glen Millican. “The course had a difficult set-up and the wind was really challenging. Our guys hung in there pretty well and ended up with a solid finish. It is hard to describe how difficult it was to play today, but I can tell you the team handled it really well.”

Carson Herron shot the low round of the day for the Lobos with a 4-over 76 as the entire field shot over par on Sunday. Bastien Amat was UNM’s top finisher for the week, posting a final round 78 to finish T-4th on the individual leaderboard at 5-over. Brandon Shong also shot 78 on Sunday, while Sam Choi shot 82 and Matthew Watkins shot 85. Connor Adams shot 79 while playing as an individual.

The Lobos conclude the regular season with the Thunderbird Collegiate, hosted by Arizona State, beginning on Friday.
