ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobo women’s tennis team looks to get back on track this weekend when it heads to Laramie, Wyoming for a conference weekend in which the Lobos take on Wyoming and Colorado State. UNM wil face the Cowgirls on Saturday at 10 am and then Colorado State on Sunday at 2 pm.
New Mexico is coming off a tough weekend in which the squad lost both matches, falling 4-0 to Air Force and 4-2 to Nevada. Both matches were close, as UNM was down 3-0 to Air Force but had the lead in the other matches and lost the decisive fourth match in a third set. Against Nevada, UNM was without Albie Huang, and that miss hurt UNM as the lineup shuffle moved enough folks around to hurt UNM in a match where again, they in reality probably would have won the lone unfinished match and had chances in two others on the board.
For Wyoming, the Cowgirls are 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the Mountain West while Colorado State is 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the Mountain West. Wyoming split last weekend, falling to nationally-ranked Fresno State 4-2 and beating San Jose State 4-1. For Colorado State, the Rams took a 4-3 win over San Jose State and lost to No. 68 Fresno State 4-1.
