COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the third time this season, a Lobo men’s tennis player has been named Freshman of the Week. For the third time, it’s a different freshman. This time it’s Aram Naroozian who earned the honor, joining UNLV’s Christian Bulus as MW Player of Week in the weekly honors.
Noroozian joins fellow Lobo freshman Arda Azkara and Georgio Samaha as MW Freshman of the Week honorees. The Lobo men’s tennis team has five freshmen among the eight players.
Noroozian picked up his first career win at No. 2 singles on Saturday, moving up a slot and winning 7-6 (7-4), 7-4 over Yusuf Khamis, UNM’s only singles win in a 4-2 loss to then No. 73 ETSU.
The Lobos, back-to-back Mountain West champs, open defense of their titles on Saturday afternoon hosting Air Force at 4 p.m. at McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium.
