TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of New Mexico track & field team completed the second and final day of the ASU Invitational to open up its outdoor season with a few Lobos getting top times in their events.

Jevon O’Bryant continues to build upon his success in sprints events as he ran a time of 45.98 in the 400m dash, earning second place in the event and a top spot on the TFRRS NCAA DI National Qualifying List early in the season. O’Bryant beat his previous personal best by about half a second. Jovahn Williamson was right behind him, just .04 seconds difference at a time of 46.02 seconds for third in the event while also setting a new personal best.

Rivaldo Leacock also exceled in his event, earning the top spot in the 400m hurdles with a time of 50.79 seconds. His time was just .65 seconds from beating the school record and also earns him a top spot on the early season national qualifying list.

In the men’s triple jump, Aidan Quinn hit a mark of 14.85m, which puts in the top-50 on the qualifying list early in the season.

Freshman Lauren Fowler (long jump, 100m dash) and Mikyla Harkley (triple jump) also got some more experience under their belt for their first outdoor collegiate season. Ryan Little also ran in the 400m dash today.

The Lobos will have split squads at two meets next week as some will head to the Stanford Invitational on April 1-2 in Stanford, Calif., while others will head to the Texas Tech Masked Rider in Lubbock, Texas, on the same dates.
