Lobos Set to Open Up Outdoor Season at ASU Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of New Mexico track & field teams are officially opening up the outdoor season at the ASU Invitational, hosted by Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., on March 25-26.
The Lobos open the meet with the women’s 200m dash at 6:20 p.m. (PT) on Friday, which Mikyla Harkley, Lauren Fowler, Ryan Little and Tianna Holmes will be competing in. The men’s 200m dash will follow at 6:35 p.m., as Victor Akhalu, Jevon O’Bryant, Rivaldo Leacock and Jovahn Williamson will run the event.
On Saturday, Holmes and Little will run in the women’s 400m dash at 4:05 p.m., while O’Bryant and Williamson in the men’s 400m dash will follow at 4:15 p.m. Along with running the 400m dash, Leacock will compete in the 400m hurdles as well, set for 5:45 p.m. Fowler is set to compete in the women’s 100m dash at 4:30 p.m. and long jump at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Harkley will compete in the triple jump during the 10:30 a.m. time slot as well.
Aidan Quinn is set to compete in his main event, the triple jump at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
After a successful indoor season in which many Lobos exceeded their personal records and were very close to qualifying in their respective events, New Mexico is looking to build upon that success in outdoor season.
