COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– New Mexico’s Sam Choi was named Mountain West Golfer of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced Thursday. Choi was honored after strong play at the National Invitational in Arizona, where the Lobos finished sixth among an elite field.
Choi earned his sixth career weekly honor after posting the Lobos’ best score at Omni Tucson National last week. He shot 11-under to finish T-5th individually, his fifth top-5 finish of the season. Choi posted rounds of 63-70-72 during the event, setting a new career best with his first round 63.
The Lobos return to action March 27-29 with the Hootie at Bulls Bay in South Carolina.
