ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team looks to continue its strong play as it travels to the National Invitational, hosted by Arizona. The tournament will run Mar. 18-19 at the 7,200-yard, par-72 Omni Tucson National.

The tournament will consist of two rounds on Friday and one round of Saturday. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

This year’s tournament features an elite field of 15 schools, including nine ranked in the GolfStat Top 30. The Lobos, ranked No. 28 nationally in the latest GolfStat rankings, will compete against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 5 Arkansas, No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 12 Texas, No. 13 Tennessee, No. 25 Illinois and No. 30 Arizona, the tournament host. Colorado State, San Diego, San Diego State, UNLV, USC and Wyoming round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Sam Choi, Brandon Shong, Carson Herron and Matthew Watkins and Bastien Amat.

The Lobos are coming off a seventh place finish in another elite tournament, the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas three weeks ago. That result followed a victory at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Hawai’I and a runner-up finish at the Arizona Intercollegiate to open the spring schedule.
