COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– New Mexico sophomore Myah McDonald was named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. She was honored after two strong performances last week for the Lobos at the Trinity Forest Invitational and the Clover Cup.
It is the first Mountain West weekly honor for a Lobo this season and the first of McDonald’s career.
McDonald opened the week by helping the Lobos finish third at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas. She rebounded from an opening-round 80 in extreme weather with rounds of 71 and 73 to finish T-11th at 8-over. Later in the week, McDonald helped the Lobos to a T-7th finish against a strong field at the Clover Cup in Arizona. She posted rounds of 69-72-70 to post a season-best T-6th finish at 5-under.
The Lobos return to action March 25-27 with the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix.
