DALLAS, Texas – The New Mexico women’s golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU at Trinity Forest Golf Club. The Lobos shot 7-over during the final round to finish in third place at 37-over.
Texas Tech won the tournament at 22-over, followed by Tulsa at 36-over. The Lobos were followed bu UTSA and South Florida, who tied for fourth at 39-over.
“We had it going, but lost too many shot at the end,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “Third was a great finish for the team. Myah and Lauren had a great event and it was a good comeback for Jenny after her first round.”
Myah McDonald was the Lobos’ top individual finisher at 8-over, placing T-11th on the individual leaderboard after a final round 73. Lauren Lehigh shot 75 on Tuesday to finish t 9-over. Jenny Lertsadwattana shot a 1-under 71 in the final round to finish at 11-over, rebounding with two under-par rounds after a first round 85. Caroline Jansson finished at 16-over and Chloe Lauer finished at 20-over.
The Lobos have a quick turnaround to their next event, traveling to Arizona for the Clover Cup on Friday-Sunday.
