Herron Earns Second Straight Mountain West Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– New Mexico’s Carson Herron was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Friday. Herron was honored after strong play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, where the Lobos finished seventh among an elite field.

Herron posted the Lobos’ best score at Southern Highlands Country Club, shooting 7-under to finish T-13th, both career-best marks. He shot rounds of 68-72-69 to shoot par or better in all three rounds of a tournament for the first time as a Lobo.

The Lobos return to action March 18-19 with the National Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
