Lobos Conclude MW Indoor Championships, Earn Three First-Place Finishes on Final Day
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobos concluded the final day of the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships with five first-place finishes in the meet.
Three more Lobos finished in first place in their respective event, as Elise Thorner won the mile with a time of 4:46.20, Matthew Larkin placed first in the 800m with a time of 1:49.14 and Gracelyn Larkin won the 3000m with a time of 9:17.18.
Currently, three from the New Mexico squad are qualified for the NCAA Championships in the women’s 5000m run. Adva Cohen is ranked fourth on the national qualifying list with a time of 15:33.00. Emma Heckel is 14th with a time of 15:41.07 and Gracelyn Larkin is ranked 15th with a time of 15:41.17.
NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for March 10-12 in Birmingham, Ala.
