FRESNO, Calif. — The regular season for the Lobo women’s basketball team is winding down, with New Mexico on the road for its next two games to close out the Mountain West schedule. The Lobos face Fresno State on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. MT and stays on the road to face San José State on Friday, Feb. 25, also at 7 p.m. MT.

Both games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with live stats available.

Following a week in which the Lobos averaged 91 points per game, the Lobos are now averaging 78.9 points per game in conference games, which leads the Mountain West, and continues to have five players scoring in double figures with Paula Reus closely behind at 9.3 points per game. On the season, the Lobos are 16th in the NCAA in scoring offense at 77.1 points per game and are sixth in the NCAA in made three-pointers per game (9.7) and second in made three-pointers (281).

Five Lobos scored in double figures last week against Utah State and Boise State, led by Jaedyn De La Cerda at 20.5 points per game, Shaiquel McGruder and Reus averaging 14.5 points per game and Antonia Anderson and LaTora Duff averaging 12.0 points per game.

On the other side of the court, Fresno State enters the game after losing its last five games. In its most recent games, Fresno State lost to UNLV 69-59 and San Diego State (77-69). The Bulldogs are led by Haley Cavinder, who leads the team with 20.0 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and with 84 assists in conference games.  Hanna Cavinder leads with 26 steals and is also averaging double figures in conference play with 14.6 points per game. The Bulldogs have three players averaging double figures with Wytalla Motta third with 12.0 points per game.

Fresno State is fourth in the MW in scoring offense (67.4 ppg) and field-goal percentage (.415), and third in three-point field-goal percentage (.351) and made three-pointers per game (7.1).

The Bulldogs are 5-6 on the season and 3-4 in MW games at home, while the Lobos are 6-4 on the road on the season and 5-2 on the road in MW games.
