ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team opens a two-game road trip Sunday as it visits San José State. Tipoff at Provident Credit Union Events Center is 2:00 p.m. MT (1:00 p.m. PT) and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
The Lobos (11-15, 3-9) are looking for their 12th overall win and fourth Mountain West win of the season, both figures that would double last year’s win totals. New Mexico has won four of its last six games, a stretch that started on Jan. 28 with an 86-70 win over San José State at The Pit. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. and Jaelen House lead UNM in scoring at 17.9 and 17.2 points per game respectively.
San José State (7-19, 0-14) is coming off 90-60 loss to Nevada on Thursday. The Spartans are looking for their first Mountain West win of the season and are led by Omari Moore, who averages 12.8 points per game.
New Mexico leads the all-time series 18-4, including a 4-2 record in San Jose. The Spartans have won the last two meetings at Provident Credit Union Events Center, with UNM’s last road win in the series coming in 2018. In the Lobos’ win over the Spartans earlier this season, Jaelen House had 18 points to go with 13 assists, the most by a Mountain West player this season.
Following the game, the Lobos will travel to Logan, Utah for a Tuesday game at Utah State, That game will tip-off at 8 p.m. and air on FS1.
