ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team returns to action this week as it travels to the John Burns Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Hawai’i. The tournament will run Feb. 17-19 at the 6905-yard, par-72 Ocean Course at Hokuala on the island of Kauai.

The tournament will consist of one round per day, Thursday through Saturday. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

This year’s tournament features 18 schools, including four ranked in the GolfStat Top 50. The Lobos, ranked No. 38 nationally in the latest GolfStat rankings, are joined by No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 27 Arizona and No. 43 Utah as the top-ranked teams in the field. Host Hawai’i, BYU, Cal, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Northern Colorado, Saint Mary’s, Santa Clara, UC Irvine, UNLV, USC, UTEP and Washington State round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Sam Choi, Brandon Shong, Matthew Watkins, Bastien Amat and Ignacio Arcaya. Carson Herron is playing as an individual.

The Lobos are coming off a second-place finish at the Arizona Intercollegiate in January to open the spring. It was New Mexico’s third top-two finish in five events this season.
