Lobos in Seventh After First Day of The Show at Spanish Trail

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opened play Monday at The Show at Spanish Trail, hosted by UNLV and Furman at the Spanish Trail Country Club. The Lobos enter the final round tied for seventh place at 10-over par.

New Mexico shot 7-over in the morning’s first round before shooting 3-over in the afternoon second round. The final round will be played on Tuesday.

UNLV is leading the tournament at 17-under, with Nevada at 12-under and Augusta at 2-under.

“We didn’t adept well to course conditions today,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “We will need to do a better job of that tomorrow in the final round.”

Jenny Lertsadwattana was the low Lobo on day one, with rounds of 73 and 70 to finish Monday T-9th on the individual leaderboard at 1-under. Myah McDonald had rounds of 74 and 73 to sit at 3-over, Chloe Lauer went 73-75 to be at 4-over and Lauren Lehigh shot 76-73 to sit at 5-over. Annie Saechueng rounded out the lineup at 9-over, while Lisa-Marie Pagliano is at 5-over while playing as an individual.

Play will conclude Tuesday at Spanish Trail Country Club beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT with the final round.
