ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobo track & field teams are set to host their next indoor meet of the season, the New Mexico Team Open, on Saturday at the east halls of the Albuquerque Convention Center. Field events start with men’s pole vault at 8 a.m. (MT) and track events start with the men’s 3000m at 9:20 a.m.

The teams competing in this meet include Adams State, Arizona State, Cal Poly Pomona, Clarendon College, Concordia (Cali.), CSU-Bakersfield, CSU-Pueblo, Eastern New Mexico, Hardin-Simmons, Grand Canyon, Lubbock Christian, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Southwest (N.M.), Trinidad State, UC-Irvine, UCLA, UNLV, UTEP, Washington State and West Texas A&M. A number of professional athletes will be competing this weekend as well, including those from the Brooks Beast and ASICS teams.

Spectators are welcome to the Albuquerque Convention Center for all of New Mexico’s home meets but are required to wear a mask at all times, unless eating or drinking. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the “Tickets” link above or on site on the day of the meet.

After a successful first home indoor meet in nearly two years last Saturday, the Lobos are looking to build on their accomplishments. Jevon O’Bryant highlighted last week’s MLK Invitational as he broke a school record in the 600m run with a time of 1:17.5, placing second in the event. Victor Akhalu ran his first event as a Lobo, running a time of 6.78 seconds in the 60m dash to earn the second best time in the Mountain West this season.
