UNM Heads South for Dual MeetUNM Heads South for Dual Meet

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico swimming and diving program will finally be all together, just in time to head south to take on New Mexico State in a dual match on Saturday, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex.

The Lobos will be looking to win a second straight meet and to even up the season series from the Aggies as UNM lost earlier this season in Albuquerque 196-157.  The Lobos over that two-day meet were short a few swimmers, and now for this meet, UNM will see how they fare after the swimming team missed out on its double-dual meet with Colorado State and Air Force.  UNM’s diving team did travel and compete, although no team scores were kept for UNM.

The Lobos are 3-2 on the season, having won their last meet, winning 129-106 over San Diego in a meet where UNM didn’t compete in the two diving events.  Now, the Lobos will have most everyone back for its meet on Thursday.  UNM is taking on an Aggie squad that is 2-3-1 on the year, coming off a 132-132 tie with Northern Arizona.  The meet will serve as Senior Day for 11 of its squad members.
