ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins a two-game road trip Wednesday with a visit to No. 23 Colorado State. Tipoff at the Moby Arena is 8 p.m. MT and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

The Rams, ranked No. 23 in the latest coaches’ poll, are the first ranked opponent for the Lobos in nearly two seasons, since a trip to No. 4 San Diego State on February 11, 2020. New Mexico is looking for its first ranked win since an 85-58 win over No. 6 Nevada at The Pit in 2019 and its first ranked win on the road since topping then-No. 22 Colorado State, 91-82, in Fort Collins in 2013.

The Lobos (7-10, 0-4) are looking for their first Mountain West win of the season after falling to Boise State 71-63 on Saturday at The Pit. Jaelen House had 21 points and matched a career high with seven assists to lead the Lobos. KJ Jenkins added 15 points off the bench, as he leads the team with 34 3-pointers this season.

Colorado State (13-1, 3-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season on Jan. 8 at San Diego State with victories over Utah State and at San Jose State. The Rams, the preseason conference favorite, are led by David Roddy, who averaged 18.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

The teams were supposed to meet on Dec. 28 in the conference opener in Albuquerque, but the game was postponed due to COVID concerns within the CSU program. That game is yet to be rescheduled. The Lobos hold a 77-49 edge in the all-time series, but the Rams lead 36-26 in Fort Collins.

The Lobos conclude their two-game trip on Saturday at Wyoming. Game time is 5:30 p.m. MT and the game will air on CBS Sports Network.
