ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team looks for its first Mountain West win of the season as it travels to UNLV on Tuesday night. Tipoff at the Thomas & Mack Center is 9 p.m. MT (8 p.m. PT) and the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

The game marks the second of three trips to Las Vegas for the Lobos this season. They competed in the Las Vegas Invitational at the Orleans Arena in November and will return to the Thomas & Mack Center in March for the Mountain West Tournament.

The Lobos (7-8, 0-2) are coming off a 90-87 overtime loss to Utah State on Saturday at The Pit. The Lobos made 17 3-pointers in the game, T-5th most in program history. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. scored a career-high 29 points, his fifth 25-point game of the season to lead New Mexico. Javonte Johnson scored a career-high 23 points, making seven 3-pointers, most by a Lobo in three seasons.

UNLV (8-6, 0-1) hasn’t played since a 62-55 loss to San Diego State on New Year’s Day, having games at San Jose State and Air Force postponed last week. Bryce Hamilton leads the Runnin’ Rebels in scoring at 18.4 points per game.

The Runnin’ Rebels have won the last six contests in the series, including both meetings last year in Las Vegas. The Lobos last win in the series came in 2017-18, when they swept the season series.

The Lobos return to home on Jan. 15 to host San Diego State. Game time is 7 p.m. MT and the game will air on CBS Sports Network.
