ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins a three-game homestand at The Pit on Monday when it hosts Grambling State. Game time is 7 p.m. and fans can watch online on the Mountain West Network and listen on the Lobo Radio Network. Tickets for the game are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
The game is Save the Planet Day and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Lobo reusable water bottle, compliments of the Albuquerque Water Authority.
The Lobos (1-1) are looking to rebound from their first loss of the season, falling at Colorado 87-76 on Saturday in their road opener. New Mexico won its season opener 99-92 against FAU last week at The Pit. Four Lobo newcomers are averaging double-figure scoring through the first two games, led by Jaelen House, who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 26.0 points per game.
The Tigers (0-2) are playing the third game of a season-opening four-game road trip. Grambling State opened the season with losses at Grand Canyon (74-53) and at Texas Tech (88-62) and will end the road trip at Iowa State following the visit to Albuquerque.
New Mexico has won both previous meetings with Grambling State, both at The Pit, during the 1987-88 and 2008-09 seasons.
After Monday’s game, the Lobos continue the homestand on Saturday against Montana State before closing it out on Nov. 22 against Western New Mexico.
