Edwards, Johnson named CoSIDA Women’s Soccer Academic All-District First Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Jadyn Edwards and Emily Johnson from the University of New Mexico’s women’s soccer team were named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District First Team, selected and announced by CoSIDA this morning. Student-athletes are selected to the Academic CoSIDA Teams based on their outstanding performances both on the pitch and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. New Mexico has had one Lobo on the Academic All-District team every year since 2017.

Edwards leads the conference in goals scored (11), shots (86), shots on goal (38), and points (31). She has three game-winning goals for the Lobos. Edwards is majoring in biology and holds a 4.0 GPA. This is her first time earning the award.

Johnson has notched 80 saves and earned a 12-3-2 record this season. She has allowed only 17 goals throughout 17 games played. Johnson is earning her MBA and holds a 3.6 GPA.
