ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobos persevered through another tough conference matchup against Boise State on Sunday afternoon. Jadyn Edwards knocked in her seventh goal of the season to lead UNM to a 1-0 victory over the Broncos.
This win marks the eighth straight win for the Lobos, setting a new program record. The previous record was seven games in a row during the 2010 season. After breaking the program record for longest conference winning streak with eight straight wins after the 2-1 win over Utah State on Friday, the team extended it to nine in a row with today’s win.
Although neither team scored for the first 45 minutes of the game, there was still plenty of action. The Lobos fired off 10 shots and forced pressure on Boise State’s goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw as she recorded six saves just in the first half. The Broncos countered with three shots of their own, but caused Lobos’ goalkeeper Emily Johnson to make an impressive, crucial save in the 32nd minute.
