Lobos Finish Sixth at Molly Collegiate Invitational
SEASIDE, Calif. – The New Mexico women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Molly Collegiate Invitational as play concluded Tuesday at the Bayonet Golf Course. The Lobos shot a final round 300 to finish the event at 47-over.
Stanford won the event with a score of 14-over, edging UCLA and San Jose State (both 21-over). Cal (26-over) and Oregon State (40-over) rounded out the top five.
“We had solid play today from Myah and Lauren,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “Although as a team we didn’t perform as well as we would have liked this week, there were some bright spots. It was a great finish from Myah.”
Myah McDonald led the Lobos with a final round even-par 72 to finish the event at 7-over, T-11th on the individual leaderboard. Lauren Lehigh shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to finish at 14-over. Lisa-Marie Pagliano finished at 11-over after a final-round 77 while Jenny Lertsadwattana finished at 16-over and Caroline Jansson was 24-over.
The Lobos return to action October 11-12 with the Dale McNamara Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Tulsa, will be played at the Golf Club of Oklahoma.
