Jerrick Reed Named Preseason All-MW
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Following up on a breakthrough 2020 campaign in which he led the Mountain West in interceptions, Jerrick Reed II was named to the preseason All-Mountain Team in a vote of league-wide media.
Reed is the first Lobo to be named preseason All-MW since Aaron Jenkins was a preseason All-MW offensive lineman in 2018, and he is the first All-MW preseason pick since 2017 when Gerrett Hughes earned the honor along the defensive line.
He is also the first Lobo defensive back to be named to the preseason All-Mountain West team since 2008 when DeAndre Wright was named to the team.
Reed started five games last season and played in all seven. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 33 and led the team in interceptions with four. Those four picks placed him first in the Mountain West in interceptions and tied for eighth nationally in total interceptions. He also finished fifth nationally in interceptions per game and he added three PBUs, a TFL and had a fumble recovery. He picked off two passes against Hawai’i.
Season tickets can be purchased for as low as $86 at golobos.com/tickets. The season opens on Thursday, September 2 at 6 pm against Houston Baptist.
