ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The University of New Mexico volleyball season is quickly approaching and after a season in which the Lobos played just two home matches, the team will have 14 matches at home in the 2021 season.

UNM will open up the season with an exhibition against New Mexico Highlands at The Pit on Aug. 21, with free admission and a post-match clinic.

The official season begins on the road at the Titan Classic against Fordham, UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 27 and 28 and the following week in Abilene, Texas for the Wildcat Classic against Abilene Christian, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Texas Southern.

Following two weekends on the road, the Lobos host Southeast Louisiana, Seattle and UCSD in a two-day tournament at The Pit from Sept. 10 and 11 and have a home and home with Northern Arizona with the Lobos playing host on Sept. 18 to close out the non-conference portion.

The homestand continues heading into conference play with New Mexico hosting Air Force and Fresno State for a pair of weekday matches.

After a pair of road matches, the Lobos return to the Johnson Center to face Utah State (Oct. 7) and Boise State (Oct. 9) before again heading back on the road for two matches.

A Thursday match against San José State opens a span of three home matches in nine days, with Wyoming (Oct. 28) and Colorado State (Oct. 30) traveling to Albuquerque.

The home schedule concludes with another Thursday-Saturday pairing with UNLV (Nov. 11) and San Diego State (Nov. 13), before the Mountain West schedule concludes with two matches on the road at Air Force and Fresno State.
