ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– There are just two teams in the Mountain West with two losses in conference play, and they are set to meet this weekend as the Lobos face Colorado State this Friday and Saturday in Fort Collins. Further, both teams share the same two opponents in those losses – UNLV and Fresno State.

As expected, both the Lobos and the Rams have among the best stats in the conference in several categories and enter as the top-two scoring teams in the MW. In the MW, UNM leads the conference in assists per game (17.22), turnover margin (+4.44), scoring offense (85.44) and three-point field goals made (10.22). The Lobos are second in assist/turnover ratio (1.29), steals per game (9.22) and scoring margin (+10.11), and third in free-throw percentage (.745) and field-goal percentage (.452).

UNM is second in the NCAA in three-point field goals per game (10.4), 15th in assist/turnover ratio at 1.31 and are 20th in assists per game (17.1). The Lobos are 26th in fewest turnovers per game (13.0), 28th in turnover margin (+4.91) and 33rd in scoring margin (13.1) and field-goal percentage (.453).

For Colorado State, the Rams are first in the MW in scoring margin (+15.75) and field goal percentage (.465), free-throw percentage (.785), three-point field goal percentage (.404) and second in the MW in scoring offense (81.8).

Between the two teams, the Lobos and Rams are first and second in three categories.

UNM enters the two-game series after a sweep of San Diego State on the road, in which the Lobos held the Aztecs to 48 points in both games and used the third quarter to take control of the games.
Ahlise Hurst led the Lobos in scoring in the series with 32 points with Antonia Anderson leading on the glass with 16 rebounds.

In each game, the Lobos had four players reach double figures in scoring and have five players averaging double figures in scoring on the season.

On the other side of the court, Colorado State is 14-2 overall, 10-2 in conference. The Rams average 81.8 points per game and have the conference leader in assists (94) in McKenna Hofschild and three-pointers made in Tori Williams (43). Defensively, CSU is averaging 31.4 rebounds per game to lead the MW.

Overall, UNM leads the series 44-38 and has won the last four meetings.

Friday and Saturday are both scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with both games on the Mountain West Network.
