Lobos to Open XC Season at Silver State Collegiate Challenge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The University of New Mexico men’s cross country team open its season on Monday at the Silver State Collegiate Cross Country Challenge, hosted by USA Track & Field- Nevada in Las Vegas, Nev.

Run at the Craig Ranch Regional Park, the Lobos will run in the 8 a.m. PT/ 9 a.m. MT men’s blue race.

Running in the men’s race is Nehemiah Cionelo, Reece Donihi, Benjamin Harvey, Iolo Hughes, Abdirizak Ibrahim, Matthew Larkin, Harrison Smith III and Awet Yohannes.

There will be a total of 15 schools running across six races, including seven from the Mountain West in Nevada, Air Force, Boise State, Fresno State, UNLV, Air Force, San Diego State and New Mexico.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, spectators are not permitted at the meet.
