ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After a brief stint of practice in Albuquerque, the University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is back on the road for its sixth conference series of the season. UNM will take on Fresno State on Thursday at 9 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network in Fresno.
Thursday’s game will also be available to follow via Live Stats.
The Lobos (5-9, 1-9 MW) enter the series coming off of a split against San José State in St. George, Utah. UNM won the first game by 16 points (67-51) before dropping game two by 12 points (83-71).
After postponing its series finale against Boise State, Fresno State (5-6, 3-6 MW) enters the series riding a three-loss streak including a pair of games at Nevada and one at Boise State. The Bulldogs have not played at home in Fresno since Jan. 10 against San José State.
SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series over the Bulldogs by a narrow 17-15 margin, however UNM is 3-12 on the road in Fresno. Fresno State has claimed three of the last four meetings between the squads and is also 7-3 over the last 10 meetings.
THE COACHES
Head coach Paul Weir is 57-56 in his fourth year at the helm of the Lobos, 85-62 in his fifth season as a head coach. Fresno State head coach Justin Hutson is 39-34 in his third season with the Bulldogs and is the same in his career.
