We have our first #BestOfThe2000s defensive lineman, and it’s Michael Tuohy!!! Great pick by the fans! Tyler Donaldson was second so he advances to the next poll, which is coming right up! Halfway home as we have 15 team members, and 15 slots left! #GoLobos pic.twitter.com/fcsQLOSvzX

The series is a way to engage Lobo fans with the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuohy, who played from 2004-07 was one of the best in Lobo history at getting after the quarterback. Tuohy tied a school record four sacks in a 34-28 win over New Mexico State in Las Cruces. He earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in that game. Overall his 20.5 sacks is fifth all-time at UNM in career history. His 38.0 tackles for loss is also sixth in career Lobo history.
Looking for a second defensive lineman (of 3) on the #BestOfThe2000s team. This should be another close poll, winner is on the team, second advances to the final poll! This closed at noon tomorrow! #GoLobos
