To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

Of the 61 Lobos to make the prestigious list, an outstanding 20 came from the women’s soccer program accounting for nearly 67 percent of the Lobo women’s soccer roster making the list. The rest of the list was made up of 19 student-athletes from the football program, 11 from the women’s cross country program, eight from the volleyball program and three from men’s cross country.

An impressive 65.6 percent of Lobos to make the list (40) not only achieved a 3.0 or better, but actually logged a 3.5 or better, with 14 of those checking in at over a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

The Lobos were fifth among Mountain West competitors behind Wyoming, which led the way with 74, Boise State (73), Utah State (70) and Nevada (62). Colorado State and UNLV were just behind with 54 each followed by Fresno State and San José State with 53 apiece. San Diego State had 37 student-athletes on the list followed by MW affiliates Colorado College (17) and Hawai’i (16).
