Game Day Info: UNM Going for Upset at Notre Dame

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — the sheer historical numbers are staggering.  Notre Dame has advantages historically in most categories over The University of New Mexico.  Wins (898 to 487), winning percentage (.726 to .450), bowl games (35 to 13), Heisman winners (7 to 0), consensus All-Americans (102 to 3), NFL draft picks (505 to 65), first round picks (69 to 2), weeks in the national AP poll (802 to 0) and weeks at No. 1 in the AP poll (98 to 0), just about any category you can think of on the field, Notre Dame has the lead, and they have it in other ways.

The golden dome.  Rudy, Touchdown Jesus.  About all UNM can hold over Notre Dame is the Lobos have four conference titles, and Notre Dame, an independent, has none.

But for 60 minutes on Saturday, at 12:42 p.m. Mountain Time, it’s them versus us, and UNM will take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the opportunity of a lifetime.  The game will be broadcast on NBC, and whether you are watching it there, heading to South Bend, or listening on the Lobo Radio Network, here’s how to follow along.
