APD/Lobo Football Youth Day is open for boys and girls from grades five through eight, and the day is open for the first 80 registrants.  To register, click the link at the top of the page and fill out the registration packet and return it to the APD Academy, located at 5412 2nd St NW, Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or email RLEGENDRE@CABQ.GOV. A separate registration packet must be completed for each child who wishes to participate. In order for your child(ren) to be considered, ALL forms must be completed and received no later than August 21, 2019. Those selected to attend will receive notification via phone or e-mail by August 23, 2019.

Participants will be given a tour of the Tow Diehm Football Complex, have a chance to watch the Lobo Football Players practice, get to meet many of the specialized units from the Albuquerque Police Department and have an opportunity to run practice drills at the Dreamstyle Stadium!  Last year’s clinic had special guest appearances by UNM President Garnett Stokes and Albuquerque Mayor and former St. Pius X quarterback Tim Keller.  Kids that took part in Youth Day got to tour first responder vehicles including squad cars, a fire truck, a crime scene mobile unit, and motorcycles.  A pair of horses from APD’s mounted unit made an appearance as well.

The kids then move into Dreamstyle Stadium to learn pass catching techniques, defensive techniques.  Some even got to show off their touchdown celebrations.
