Lobos sign former McDonald’s All American Jordan Hosey

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico head women’s basketball coach Mike Bradbury has announced the signing of former McDonald’s High School All American Jordan Hosey. Hosey is eligible to play immediately and will have one more season on the hardwood.

“I’m excited to add a player of Jordan’s caliber to our team this late in the year,” said Bradbury “Her experience playing at a high-level will benefit us greatly this year. Jordan adds to the list of great transfers that we have been able to get over the years and I’m sure that she will have the same amount of success they all did.”

A native of Pearland, Texas, Hosey is a 6-1 forward that turned in a standout prep career at Manvel High School and was ranked as the No. 16 overall prospect and the No. 5 wing player in the 2015 recruiting class according to ESPN.com. In her senior season of 2014-15, Hosey was a Naismith Trophy semifinalist, a Naismith Trophy All-America and WBCA All-America selection, and participated in both the McDonald’s All American and Jordan Brand Classic games.

After high school, Hosey signed with the University of Texas where she would spend the first three years of her collegiate career. While in Austin, Hosey played in 96 games and was a key contributor off the bench. Averaging just under 10 minutes per game as a Longhorn, Hosey was a 46% shooter from the field and averaged 3.1 points per game.

Hosey’s final season at Texas came in 2017-18. That year, she enjoyed career-highs in games started (3), field goals made (53), field goal percentage (.477), rebounds (76), and points (119, 3.5 ppg).
