Complete Spring Mountain West All-Academic List

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the eighth consecutive year, The University of New Mexico has officially led the Mountain West in academic all-conference honorees for the Spring semester, with 120 student-athletes earning recognition.

UNM has led the conference in Spring Academic All-Conference honorees for every year since the 2011-12 academic year.  The 2018-19 academic year was the sixth consecutive year that the Lobos had at least 120 honorees in the Spring.

The 120 honorees, added to the 72 in the Fall gives UNM a total of 192 for the year, the sixth straight year that the Lobos have had at least 180 honorees for the year.  The 192 was the third-highest total for the Lobos, behind the 200 last year and the 199 in 2015-16.

Three programs were leaders in its respective programs; men’s tennis, baseball and men’s golf teams.  Men’s tennis had six honorees, tying with San Diego State for the most in the sport, and baseball had 13, which was tied with UNLV for the most in that sport.  It marked the third straight year that baseball either led or tied for the league lead.  For men’s golf, it tied with Wyoming for the lead league, and it’s the second straight year that men’s golf led the league.

While women’s track and field did not lead the league, the program had 28 honorees, a program record.  Softball, men’s basketball and women’s track and field all finished in the top three of the league.
