 OFFICIAL CoSIDA RELEASE

In being named to the Academic All-District® team, both Deimling and Mang will advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot where first- and second-team Academic All-America® honors will be announced on June 6.

A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Deimling has a 3.58 GPA in Liberal Arts. Mang, a native of Los Alamos, N.M. carries a 3.89 GPA in Liberal Arts as well.

For Mang, this is his third-straight year being named to the Academic All-District® team after making it as a junior in 2018 and as a sophomore in 2017. As a sophomore, Mang also earned Academic All-America® status. For Deimling, this is his first Academic All-District® honor.

This season, both Mang and Deimling have been stalwarts in the middle of the Lobo lineup that is currently leading the Mountain West in batting average and runs scored.

Mang is currently enjoying a career year as he is posting career-bests in batting average (.387), doubles (23), triples (4), slugging percentage (.634) and on-base percentage (.454) this season. In all of those aforementioned stat categories aside from on-base percentage, Mang either leads the MW or is ranked second. His 23 doubles are currently tied for second-most in all of DI.

In his second full season with the Lobos Deimling has displayed consistency in his numbers from a year ago. He is currently on pace to meet or exceed most of his career-bests and has already done so this season in home runs (5) and RBIs (35). Earlier this season, Deimling had a four-game stretch that yielded absurd numbers. Beginning with the series finale with San Jose State and carrying over to a three-game set with perennial power Cal State Fullerton, Deimling hit .563 (9-for-16) with six runs scored, a double, four home runs and 15 RBIs.
