Justin Slaten
A native of Longview, Texas, Slaten’s junior season in 2019 was a breakout year to say the least. On the mound, the 6-4 right-hander elevated himself to the ace of the Lobo pitching staff as he posted career-bests in ERA, wins, innings pitches, strikeouts and opponent batting average against.

All told, Slaten ended the season with a 5-5 record and a 2.51 ERA and a .215 opponent batting average against with 98 strikeouts in 82.1 innings pitched.  His 98 strikeouts are the second-most by a Lobo pitcher since the 2007 season.
