Five Games, Four on Road Announced for National TV

Printable Schedule

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West has released the national television package for the 2019 football season, and The University of New Mexico was selected for national broadcast four times.  With the addition of UNM’s road game at Notre Dame, the Lobos will be on national television five times in 2019.

Additional broadcasts selected for AT&T Sports Network, Spectrum and Stadium will be announced in the coming weeks as the selection window for those networks has begun.

Of the five games that are on national television for the Lobos, four of them are on the road, making it easy for Lobo fans to catch all the action at home or on the road.  New Mexico also had one home game selected, and that was one of two games moved to Friday night.  The lone home game for national broadcast is on Friday, October 11 when the Lobos host Colorado State at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.  The last two games between the two programs have been decided by three points and two points, both coming down to the final play.

UNM will open its national television slate on September 14 with UNM’s long-awaited matchup with Notre Dame on September 14.  That kickoff will be at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time, 12:30 Mountain and the game will be broadcast on NBC.  That game has national significance with Lobo head coach Bob Davie making his return to Notre Dame Stadium after serving on the coaching staff for nine years, including five as the head coach.

UNM’s first conference nationally televised game will be on a Friday night, October 4 at 8 p.m. Mountain Time, 7 Pacific at San Jose State.  That game is also UNM’s Mountain West opener.

The two other games selected for national broadcast were the final two non-conference games of the season, with UNM’s road games at Nevada (Saturday, November 2) and at Boise State (Saturday, November 16) selected for ESPN’s family of networks.  The networks and game times for those games will most likely be announced 12 days prior to the game.

UNM’s other five home games, including the season opener against Sam Houston State on August 31 and against New Mexico State on September 21, will stay on Saturday, and with no national television slated for those games, it should allow for more attractive starting kickoff times for those games.

Fans can lock in and renew their season tickets for the 2019 season during UNM’s renewal phase by contacting the ticket office at 505-925-LOBO or heading over to www.golobos.com/tickets.
