ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is celebrating Senior Night on Wednesday night as it takes on Boise State at 7 p.m. MT on ESPN3. Seniors Anthony Mathis and Dane Kuiper will be honored following the contest.

The Lobos (12-16, 6-10 MW) enter Wednesday night’s game coming off of a 12-point victory over Colorado State at home on Saturday night while the Broncos (11-18, 6-10 MW) enter hungry for a victory after falling in their last five straight, including a pair of overtime defeats against Utah State and UNLV.

Both teams are tied in the league standings at 6-10 in conference play and are led by three or more double-digit scorers.

Mathis leads the Lobos with 14.9 points per game in conference play, followed by redshirt-sophomore Vance Jackson (13.1), redshirt-sophomore Keith McGee (10.8) and sophomore Makuach Maluach (10.5). Redshirt-junior Carlton Bragg follows the trio with 9.9 ppg while Boise State has three players averaging scoring double digits including junior Alex Hobbs (15.3), redshirt-sophomore Derrick Alston (15.2) and junior Justinian Jessup (15.1).

Mathis enters the game tied for third in program history in 3-pointers in a season with 98 (tied with his own 98 from last season). He is just five away from breaking the record of 102 set in the 1998-99 season. Mathis also ranks fifth in program history in total 3-pointers scored with 214.

In the last five games, at least one Lobo has racked up 20 points or more, including Maluach who scored a season-high 23 on Saturday night including his first career double-double with a career-high 10 rebounds.
