ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team returns to the road as it travels to Reno, Nev. for a rematch against No. 6 Nevada on Saturday at 3 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network.

The Lobos (10-12, 4-6 MW) enter Saturday’s contest with No. 6 Nevada (22-1, 9-1 MW) coming off of a 13-point victory over San Diego State on Tuesday at home. Nevada is riding an eight-win streak after its only loss of the season, an 85-58 loss to the Lobos inside Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit on Jan. 5.

New Mexico remains the only team so far this season to get the upper hand on Nevada and pull out a victory.

The Lobos continue to be led by senior Anthony Mathis who averages 15.8 points per game on the season, 16.2 in conference play. He scored a career-high 27 in the Lobos’ last matchup with Nevada and currently ranks seventh and ninth in the nation in total 3-pointers made (82) and 3-pointers per game (3.73), respectively.

UNM is also powered by redshirt-sophomore Vance Jackson (12.5/14.2 MW ppg) and redshirt-junior Carlton Bragg (10.8/10.4 MW ppg).

The Wolf Pack boasts four players averaging scoring in double figures including seniors Jordan Caroline (19.3/20.1), Caleb Martin (19.3/18.4) and Cody Martin (11.1/12.7) as well as junior Jazz Johnson (11.2/9.9).

SERIES HISTORY
Last time the teams met, the Lobos won by a 27-point margin, breaking the UNM record for the largest victory margin over a top-10 ranked team (surpassing the previous record of 20 points set on Jan. 29, 1974 against No. 8 NMSU, 88-68).

The Lobos lead the series over the Wolf Pack 7-5, but are 3-3 on the road in Reno. The Lobos’ win over Nevada earlier this season marked the end of a four-win streak for the Wolf Pack.

The teams’ last meeting also marked the first time the Lobos had topped a ranked team since Jan. 3, 2015 when UNM claimed a 66-53 win over No. 24 Colorado State in Albuquerque.

THE COACHES
Head coach Paul Weir is 29-27 in his second season with the Lobos, 57-33 in his third season as a head coach. Nevada head coach Eric Musselman is 117-30 in his fourth season at the helm of the Wolf Pack and in his career.
