ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Those marketing meetings won’t be quite so lonely anymore.  Stanley Frazier, Jr. and Carlos Ramirez have been added to the New Mexico external staff, and they have been named Assistant ADs for Marketing.  Frazier will handle Lobo Football and Ramirez will handle Lobo Basketball.  The additions double the current full-time marketing staff from two to four.

Frazier has been at UNM for a few weeks, and Ramirez just started two weeks ago, both bringing with them divergent backgrounds in Division I athletics.

“I’m very excited to have a pair of energetic, outside-the-box thinkers in Stanley and Carlos,” said Joe Thuente, Associate A.D. for Marketing and Communications.  “Stanley’s recent work with UTSA and Tulsa show that he will be a great addition to our staff.  Carlos comes to us from Kansas, where he handled many special events associated with KU Basketball, and I think our fans will enjoy his energy and what he can bring to help enhance the game experience.”

Frazier came to UNM from UTSA, where he spent the past year.  While with the Roadrunners, he handled marketing efforts for women’s basketball, volleyball and baseball, and he developed the marketing plan for the 2019 football campaign. He coordinated the Roadrunner marketing internship program, and he oversaw the Rowdy Runners Kids Club.

With UTSA he also worked closely with many of the campus constituents and student groups.  Prior to UTSA, he worked for a year at the University of Tulsa, where he oversaw marketing efforts for women’s basketball, softball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball and men’s and women’s tennis.  He directly targeted increasing women’s group rates at Tulsa, doing so by 75%.  He also oversaw the Captain ‘Cane Kids Club at Tulsa.

Frazier also has experience working at SMU as a marketing assistant, Wright State as a marketing intern and with Northern Kentucky.  He holds a pair of degrees from Wright State (B.A., liberal studies, 2011; M.A., sports management, 2013).

Ramirez brings with him six years of experience from the University of Kansas, as a Graduate Assistant, Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience and Associate Director of Marketing and Fan Experience.  With KU, he developed and/or executed marketing plans for Jayhawk football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, soccer, rowing and was involved in enhancing the gameday experience.

With Kansas, he collaborated in events such as the KU Summer kickoffs, Football 101, Ladies Night Out, and various fan appreciation events.  He worked with Kansas for Late Night in the Phog (2013-18), Phog Fest (2015-18), and Ladies Night Out with Bill Self (2013-18).  He was also involved in anniversary celebrations and special presentations within Kansas Athletics throughout his time.

Ramirez, while active in marketing, also handled many other duties at Kansas, including online auctions and online sales platforms.  He also served as the liaison with many on campus groups including Greek Life, Alumni and ROTC.

Ramirez, who is fluent in Spanish, owns a B.S. in business marketing from Kansas (2012).
