Lobo Baseball JUCO recruiting class nationally-ranked

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Just a few weeks after the University of New Mexico baseball team had their 2020 high school signing class receive its highest ranking ever by Perfect Game, the Lobos’ junior college signing class received national acclaim as well with a pair of Top-25 rankings from Perfect Game and The Junior College Baseball Blog (JBB).

According to JBB, the Lobos’ JUCO commitment class rank 12th in Division I. That same class is touted as the 22nd-ranked class by Perfect Game.

“We have some really good junior college recruits coming in and it’s a reflection of the continued effort by Jon Coyne overall on the recruiting trail,” said head baseball coach Ray Birmingham. “We are back to being Lobo Baseball and working our way towards Omaha. Our JUCO signees mixed with our high school class set up our 2020 recruiting class as possibly the most talented overall recruiting class we have had.”

The overall 2020 signing class won’t take to the field for the Lobos until the 2021 season, but the current iteration of the Lobos is set to open up their regular season campaign in early February. For the full 2020 schedule release, click HERE.
